Work Experience:

January 2020: Lighting Designer / Operator Carnon Downs Drama Group’s production of Sleeping Beauty. 

December 2019 – January 2020: Lighting Desk Operator and programmer Roses Theatre (Tewkesbury) production of Aladdin. My responsibilities initially included rigging, maintenance, programming and operation of the lighting Desk. However, during the run due to staff illness, I also stood in as flyman for a few shows due to my previous experience.

June 2019: Lighting Designer / Operator Carnon Downs Drama Group’s production of “And Then There Were None…”.

June 2019: Lighting Designer / Operator for a production of ‘Old Clown Wanted’, Sibiu International Theatre Festival, Romania.

March 2019: Lighting Designer / Operator for a production of ‘Old Clown Wanted’, Performed in Falmouth University Studio A, a filming of this was later livestreamed by the Romanian cultural institute as part of their 2020 summer programming. 

December 2018: The Roses Theatre (Tewkesbury) stage crew ‘Dick Whittington’.

September 2018 to present: Lighting Designer for a number of shows at Falmouth University including: Tory Boys, Directed by Nick Partridge; Start Swimming, directed by Alix Harris; and The Beggars Opera, Directed by Alistair O’Loughlin, along with various concerts and university hosted events.

September 2018 to present: Lighting Technician at The Poly Theatre (Falmouth), Originally hired to redesign the receiving house lighting system, then kept on as a lighting technician. I have designed their lighting rig from the ground up and documented it to make the venue more suitable for receiving shows. My responsibilities now include day to day maintenance of the lighting rig, and operation for touring productions.

August 2018: National Youth Theatre lighting course, covering lighting design techniques and the roles and responsibilities of lighting technicians for large scale shows. 

January 2018, to September 2018: Roses Theatre (Tewkesbury) roles including lighting, stage management, rigging and general maintenance of the theatre.

December 2017, Roses Theatre (Tewkesbury) fly for their production of ‘Sleeping Beauty’. As well as flies my responsibilities included helping with the get-in and out, and ASM work during longer scenes.

September 2017 – June 2018: studied and passed my Level 2 Electrical Installation at Worcester College.

September 2016 – September 2017: Babcock Marine completed their Year in Industry Apprentice Scheme, working in a variety of different areas around their naval marine section including nuclear submarine design, construction and maintenance, warship assurance and project management.

January 2013 –September 2016:  Bacon Theatre (Cheltenham) and the Playhouse Theatre (Cheltenham).  Duties included Lighting Desk Operator, Follow Spot Operator,  Sound Desk Operator, ASM, DSM, flyman, and scenic construction.

Career Plans

My aim is to work as a lighting designer for Theatre, Opera and Dance and will be moving to London following my graduation in August 2020 to pursue this dream and to broaden my experience.
