Firstly, apologies that this update is a touch late. Last week turned out to be very hectic as I started a new college course, a new university course and ended up in A&E for a few days. However, to make up for my tardiness I have two big updates for this week. This one which was supposed to be last weeks, and another update which I am planning on releasing in the latter half of this week once I have tested it a little bit further.
This module can be used to play MP3 and Wav files remotely. The volume is settable from a distance during a show and there can even be controls allowing the selection of specific files and looping all changable on the fly all via OSC depending on what the operator wants, All powered by a USB powerbank, making it a fantastic and low budget solution to the issue of wireless onstage audio.
One of the most common audio blunders I come across is when an actor answers a telephone and it doesn’t stop ringing. This easy mistake breaks the illusion of the performance, and can be easily avoided with the addition of a backtalk OSC module mounted into the body of the phone, meaning that when the handset is lifted off the reciever the ringing stops automatically, eliminating the afforementioned issue. The combination of a wireless audio module and backtalk module I have dubbed the ROSAphone, and is a cheap, reliable and operator friendly way of faking a telephone call onstage.
