Week 4, Wireless module now Server Free!

(11.10.2020)

Alongside the updates released over the past few weeks I have also been redeveloping the Wireless module from the ground up. I am now very pleased to announce that the wireless recievers no longer require the server or the transmitter. You simply send the OSC trigger straight to the reciever, and it can control everything that the old system could control.

At the moment I have been focusing on making it a viable replacement to the older server-based module, and it now does everything which it could do just as reliably (if not more!), with less latency. they are evem fully compatible with all of the modules the previous system was.

I am still going to leave the old wireless system up as it does still have some applications and advantages, such as homogonising all of the ip adresses of the ROSA system and allowing the recievers to be on a different Wifi network. This means that you have two options for more complex systems. you can either have the system so that you send lots of small signals to lots of different recievers, or you send all of your signals to the server, which then sends it to the relevent module. Plugging in the control surface to the server and using wired modules also allows a you to completely eliminate wireless technology in the system, which can be valuable on already network heavy shows.

Finally, I would like to say that this is not the end of development for this module, I do have quite a few future plans for ways that I can develop this and other modules further.
